Part of Hardy’s premium McLaren Vale releases, a sibling to the Yeengara. The sub region is 200 metres above sea level. The region one of the wettest and coolest of McLaren Vale.
Hardy’s, Tintara, Blewitt Springs, Shiraz, McLaren Vale, 2015
Rich nose, clove spice, chocolate dipped plums, coffee grounds, licorice, wet bluestone. There’s oak too: it’s sweet and obvious, but not intrusive. Silky, supple across the palate with a fine, light sandpaper wrap of tannins. Generous, regional choc with tightly closed fist closed finish of green peppercorn spice and red fruit: all in balance. It thinks big, then runs understated. Long and fine.
