Kalleske pick the fruit for the Parallax around 2 to 3 weeks earlier than they normally would for fruit for other labels. Fermentation is on stalks and minimal maturation makes for a ‘joven’ early drinking, fresh style. The imposing bottle belies the freshness and youth inside.
Kalleske, Parallax, Grenache, Barossa Valley, 2018
Aromatic, perfumed aromas of rose petals/rose water, light musk, orange rind, stalky spice and raspberry juice. Soft, waxy texture with bright and crunchy acidity the pushes the wine forward. Bittersweet and sweet fruit held tight, with a smoky edge. Tannin influence minimal. Drinkability plus.
