From old vines planted in 1947. A winemaker’s project from a single vineyard. 500ml bottle. Unfined. Unfiltered.
Chateau Yaldara, 47, Grenache, Barossa Valley, 2017
Light garnet and holds a clear heart of colour. Warm spiced bun aromas over powdered raspberry crystals, cedary oak (French influenced) and a waxy fullness. Full bodied, layered and finely textured with a bright red fruit lift. Presents with a seamless, intense palate which is somewhat bolstered by the alcohol. Shows charm and a touch of warmth yet holds the concentration. A very good wine indeed.
