La La Land, Tempranillo, Murray Darling, 2017
Matured in “seasoned” American and French oak. Damp brambly black and red berries with earthy bittersweet dark cocoa, smoky dried meats, black tea, kelp and little sweet cola syrup. The palate delivers a medium bodied, smooth experience with very very fine tannins. Plenty of juicy cherry flavour with a hint of “blue bubble gum” (maybe a little carbonic maceration?), offset by some smoky char and woody spice. Acidity is bright and youthful. Super food friendly.
