d’Arenberg’s aromatic white comes from the nearby Adelaide Hills.
d’Arenberg, The Broken Fishplate, Sauvignon Blanc, Adelaide Hills, 2018
Partial barrel fermentation in aged French oak gives a malty cereal note to underpin bright tropicals with a smoky, leafy ashen note. Carrying a touch of heft, through a slightly viscous mid-palate. The tropical notes aren’t over blown, nor is it too grassy but there’s varietal passion, gooseberry and green capsicum skin. Easy acidity to finish.
