From the Fourth Wave Wine team and winemaker Corey Ryan comes the sibling to the Renegado Old Vine Malbec 2018. With fruit from old vine vineyards across South Australia, all the ageing is done. Look for the vaquero on the label. Take your horse to the old town road (not your hotel room).

Warm plum and dark cherry skin aromas with a wall of fresh card packaging, yeasty meatiness, choc/raspberry bullets and a little olive compote. A leafy green tomato highlight pokes through to remind of grenache’s occasional herbaceous side. A young palate, stretched tight: almost too tight. Jangly, nervy, spiky red berry fruit with a towel flick of sandy tannins. Lingering herbal minty character gives a fresh finish. Nothing to think too much about and fine with grilled anything.
