Another new label from the ever-reliable Fourth Wave Wine team and winemaker Corey Ryan. This time, paying homage to the South American pioneering grapegrowers persevering with Malbec at ridiculously high altitudes. The fruit sourced from old vine malbec vineyards across South Australia.
Renegado, Old Vine Malbec, South Australia, 2018
Plush and fun. Blackberry jubes, dark chocolate and a smoky edge. There’s a little meaty reduction but it provides. Blackberry and mulberry fruit with dark yeasty, chary edges. Just a kittens’ lick of dusty tannin to ensure it’s a match for anything bbq’ed.
