Taylors have just celebrated 50 years of releases. True to modern Australian form, the Jaraman series sees blending from prime regions for the varieties.
Taylors, Jaraman, Cabernet Sauvignon, Clare Valley/Coonawarra, 2016
Offering the best of the two regions, there’s interplay between minty Coonawarra and earthy pencilly Clare Valley. Pulpy blackcurrant and blackberry with a swathe of chocolate and cedary oak. The palate offering dour chunky, drying tannin with peepholes through to the rich black/purple fruit. The choc/mint a feature (rather than a highlight) and drapes across all yet the wine keeps itself tidy and true to style/intent. Cellar worthy to allow the composition to come together.
