George The Wizard, Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra, 2016

Gives portent to a thick, heavy Coonawarra wine. Blackcurrant, syrupy cassis, black olive with chocolately after-dinner minty undertone to turned earth with fallen leaf matter. The palate is funneled into a sharply acidic cut to almost green tannins. There’s polished black fruit with little depth but enough varietal flavour, even if it is one dimensional.
