Part of newly released, elegantly labelled “Macclesfield” range from the Saturno family at Longview. The Adelaide Hills are fast becoming the heartland for Grüner in Australia.

Very pale lemon in the glass. Earthy and grounded aromas: white rocks, fresh turnip, pomme (pear/apple) flesh and skin with ginger/peppery off-set and clean citrus lift. Body to the palate: sitting between a generous Riesling and miserly Viognier, providing depth and structure. Spice is prevalent over beautifully clean fruit lines and a just right charge of acidity. Finishes essentially dry with near grapefruit bittersweet-ness and a compelling reason for a second glass.
