De Bortoli,Re-Write The Rules, Tempranillo, Victoria, 2020

Deep garnet with bright edges. Plump blueberry and cherry fruit with rich grated chocolate, meaty charcuterie/fresh biltong depth, purple flowers and a hint of dried herbs. Mid weight with silky front palate, gliding through to food friendly acid bite and easy tannin grip. The quality of fruit and winemaking is on show, however with only a little herby rustic nuance it feels simply a mod-Oz bistro friendly red.
