A fairly recent addition to the Brand’s Laira range after being acquired by Casella Family Brands a few years ago. From 2022 vintage on, Brooke Blair is Lead Winemaker.  

Brand’s Laira, The Marching Captain, Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawara, 2018

A little porty and garnet in hue. Crushed black and blue berries with choc/mint oak and regional influence. Some animalistic fleece/lanolin under turned earth. Full bodied with blocky dark fruit and silty tannins. Medium length of flavour that clips with bittersweet dark chocolate and coffee grounds. Perfect match for mid-week hearty, slow cooked stews or casseroles.
