A family run affair that takes fruit from the right regions for quality expression. Here they take fruit from a mature vineyard in Woodside located in the Adelaide Hills.
Clandestine Vineyards, Pinot Grigio, Adelaide Hills, 2022
Grigio and not Gris. Pale hue (no bronzing to confuse the Gris/Grigio argument further). Warm apple and pear flesh with brown spice, toast crumbs (note: 100% stainless steel ferment), light caramel crème and just a hint of waxy citrus. Just enough waxy phenolics from the free run juice to give some body and presence to a classically styled Grigio. Green pear and apple with bittersweet citrus with an earthy twang and a fine cut of juicy acid.
