Part of Howard Park’s Distinguished Sites range. The Leston Vineyard is right in the heart of Wilyabrup in the premier wine growing region Margaret River. Parcels were fermented in new oak, open vats, closed stainless steel before 18 months maturation in French oak (~25% new) barriques, hogheads and puncheons. Bright garnet to ruby in colour. Lifted thick blood plum and chocolate ganache with easy licorice, gun flint, cassis, savoury olive tones, raspberry milk and a little char. Playful juxtaposition. Silky palate with bright fruit focus and savoury base. Tannins are tightly bound and fine playing an excellent supporting role. Class and elegance.
