This label from the Fourth Wave Wine team and made with usual suspect collaborator Corey Ryan. Label reminds me of the Mothman. Weirds me out a touch. Anyways: fruit comes from old Barossa vines. Made with no added sulphites and wild yeast fermentation. Stainless steel settlement before being bottled unfiltered and unfined. Vegan friendly. DIAM cork (and a wax seal).
Wild Folk, Shiraz, Barossa, 2023

Deep garnet with a bright rim. Warming pan jus, plum jam, singed orange rind, white pepper and clove spice, milk chocolate and raspberry with cool freshness like a soft sea breeze. Silky and seamless. It appears simple but there’s a little rumble of tannin and structure that makes you go ‘a-ha’ and nod in agreement. Plush but not contrived, with a lightness and clean clip that keeps it from falling into flabby, cooked, jammyness. Echoes with dark spices and a decent length.
