Part of d’Arenberg’s “The High Altitude Hillbillies” range with fruit from Adelaide Hills. A small percentage of the wine partially fermented in older French oak for two to three weeks.
d’Arenberg, The Broken Fishplate, Sauvignon Blanc, Adelaide Hills, 2023
Alcohol down from previous vintages thanks to the long and cool vintage. Pink grapefruit, soft passionfruit flesh, stinging nettle tea, easy almost-nougat nuttiness from the oak work and limey citrus. Zesty and lively. Plenty of lemon/lime citrus acid thrust through long tight flavour lines and echoes of blackberry leaf and jalapeño. One of the better releases of this well priced favourite.
