Fruit for this Single Site coms from Dalrymple’s southern vineyards in the Coal River Valley, not far away from Tasmania’s state capital Hobart. Winemaker is Peter Caldwell.

Dalrymple, Single Site, Chardonnay, Coal River Valley, 2022

Bright straw hue with green highlights. Fragrant creamy white stone fruit showing the richness of the vintage and the oak work providing hints of nuts, with near mandarin peel and lemon tart citrus, gunflint, tea tree and soft briny line. Generous, yet fine. Citrus and stone fruit flesh underscored with savoury, nutty, briny bases. The acid spine very present, but not a focus. One for those that like their Chardonnay with weight.
