From the Chateau’s Estate vineyards. Planted in the sandy loam soils on Bethany Creek. Fermentation
in new and older American and French oak barrels. 18 months maturation. Winemaker is Jeremy Ottawa.

Château Tanunda, The Château, Bethanian, Shiraz, Barossa Valley, 2022

Deep garnet to ruby hue. Blueberry and black olive tapenade, licorice, iodine, tar, cooking chocolate, blood plum and some bresaola meatiness. Syrupy and full. Stays in the dark shadows of Barossa stylistically. Weighty and near unctuous. Those umami savoury notes creating a creosote base for some of those sweeter components to fight for attention. Grainy tannin give way to a clean finish. Not one for the faint hearted, but a solid and dark expression.
