Peter Lehmann Wines, 8 Songs, Shiraz, Barossa, 2021

Bruise purple, glass staining. Baking spices, deep plum conserve, oak spice, vanilla tinges, blackberry, blueberry, ink, cedar dust and rose petal. Full bodied front yet dances its way to lightness and brightness. Vanilla flows, Turkish delight, oak spice over fine and ripe tannin. There’s good balance with savoury charry edges through an intense length with a freshness of crisp acidity and echoes of ink and iodine. Stately yet modern with excellent persistence. Years ahead of it.
