The second vintage release of this sneaky ‘white from black’ bubbly. Made from 100% Shiraz (maybe the only BdN made from Shiraz in the land?) harvested from the Sugarloaf Creek vineyard. Cork seal and no foil.
Best’s Great Western, Blanc de Noir, Shiraz, Great Western, 2024

Fine lacing and small tight bubbles. Initial egg shell over richer orange stone fruit and citrus. Hints of lavender flower, barley sugar and lemon drops before a red fruit profile of strawberry jelly crystals and watermelon. The initial palate a little broad and savoury, the natural depth from the Shiraz gives a roundness and approachability through an easy flowing mid palate. All this leads to a crisp finish with plenty of pink fruit in the tail. Fun stuff and a certain party starter.
