Made by Marc Van Halderen and part of the greater Hill-Smith Family Estates stable. The wine gets its name as the vineyard sits at 500 metres above sea level and often blanketed with a little cloud. Winemaking following the same as previous vintages: Fermented and matured for 8 and half months in French oak barriques, with 30% of blend in only 7% new oak and the rest in one year and older oak.
Heggies Vineyard, Cloudline, Chardonnay, Eden Valley, 2024
A little richer on the nose that previous years, but still carrying a flinty edge. Easy peachy stone fruit lines supported by light oak, touches of marzipan and nougat, toasted mixed nuts and grapefruit citrus. Does what it sets out to do with freshness and puppy-dog energy to counter a little weight through the mid palate. Zesty and juicy finish of bittersweet citrus. Ready to go now, perfect to pair with Thai fishcakes or Moo Grob.
