An extra special Museum Release at a decade old. Janice McDonald would have overseen the winemaking back in 2014. The labels for the museum release commemorate the inaugural 1986 Riesling by using the original label artwork created by late artist Denise Bowen, mother of now Chief Winemaker Nic Bowen.
Howard Park, Museum Release, Riesling, Mount Barker, 2014

Still pale with green highlights and a touch of yellowing development. Lime flesh, crushed chalk, yellow apple flesh, savoury spice, flaky pastry and developing tones of honeycomb, lanolin, mandarin skin and hints of ghee and sea spray. Incredibly fresh and youthful for a decade old. The liveliness and drive showcase the longevity of these wines. Flavours run through lime citrus to a briny, savoury mid-palate. The honeycomb and lanolin on the nose are only suggestions through the palate. The tail bright and intense with vibrant acidity that will provide the power source for a few more years yet.
