Bishop, Glaetzer Wines, Shiraz, Barossa Valley, 2022

Bruise purple to ermine in the glass. Opens meaty and deep. Chunks of dark chocolate blackberry compote heading towards pastille, plum jam, iron filings, stewing green tomato, green peppercorn, all emboldened with mocha and vanilla oak. Flowing and supple. Fine tannins that close a little grainy and some warmth from the heat, yet holds balance. Ultimately savoury and dark with gunflint and ferrous snaps, Carries well with a mature, rugged intensity.
