The Vat 8 2023 vintage blend is 65% Shiraz and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon (from old vine McLaren Vale sources). Fermentation in stainless steel vats, both parcels of fruit were matured separately before being blended November 2023. Maturation in French oak barriques until bottling in April 2024.

Complex and flowing: Hint of choc/mint and lavender, fleshy plum, plump mulberry, soft char, pepperberry, new leather, grilled tuna, black olive and spice. Wonderfully crafted: the Cabernet giving fine tannic frame to a supple Shiraz canvas. The power, length and balance exemplary, with an ethereal close of lightness the belies its blend status.
