Another quality release from West Cape Howe: James Halliday’s best value winery for 2016.
West Cape Howe Two Steps Shiraz, Mount Barker, 2014

16 Months French oak. Smells ripe and rich. Chocolate-dipped plums, meaty spice (taco seasoning) and blueberry too. Chcolatey ganache goodness, with a distinct blue plum then red currant fruit tone. It’s silky and full but doesn’t go down hot. Fine tannins are pleasing and don’t dominate the conversation. May very well age, but its destiny is to be enjoyed whilst plump and young.
RRP: $28
Alc: 14.5%
