Yelland & Papps, Pinot Blanc, Barossa Valley. 2016
Intriguing nose of “clean” smells: almonds, meringue, elderflower, pear, golden delicious and a touch of sweet melon rind (note: Mrs Drew tasted this wine out of a Riesling/Semillon glass and it absolutely screamed of pineapple juice). Nutty, savoury flavours that seem almost too serious for itself. Medium bodied with hints of vanilla and grapefruit before firm acidity and a bone dry finish. A delicious point of difference.
