Yelland Papps, Second Take, Roussanne, Barossa Valley, 2016
Battonage lees stirring gives a cloudy appearance but not dull in any way. Nutty, frangipani, flour, peach fruit, apple cider and even a little latte coffee/milky chai aroma. Light stone fruit, little clips of roast almonds and that cloudy apple line swirling in a wonderful texture still with refreshing acidity. You may feel a like you’re turning into a hipster drinking a “natural” wine but don’t be afraid, there’s nothing too lo-fi about this well crafted wine.
