Topper’s Mountain, Wild Ferment, Shiraz, New England, 2013
Herby, stalky pepper driven with fennel seed/licorice and peppermint over baked raspberry and plum. Dark tarry fruit with that licorice/fennel/anise line and a balloon of red rose petals at the end. Feels brooding, serious without bulkiness. Unique quality.
