Suvla, Rosé, Merlot, Karasakiz, Gallipoli Peninsula, 2015
A dry rosé made from Merlot and native karasakiz. Muted rose gold colour. Summer peachy stone fruit, light red currant and strawberry, pink grapefruit, some steely notes. Reasonably generous in red fruit flavour without resorting to residual sugar. The slightly savoury aspects are also welcome. Finishing bone dry but with a little alcohol spirit heat that when served by itself detracts, but would be invisible with the right food matching.
