Johnno Harris. Unassuming and a bloody talented winemaker.
Mitchell Harris, Shiraz, Pyrenees, 2015
“Phwoar” was the first thing that sprang from my mouth upon the first smell. Fresh kitchen herb leaf (25% whole bunches), warm peppercorns, classic dark plum, olive tapenade and lifted blueberry. There’s a splash of viognier in here which manifests itself not as obvious stonefruit but simply as a reference point among the dark/bright rainbow. Medium bodied and beautifully put together: each component playing its part without being overt or out of place. Leave me the bottle.
