A combination of lower level and higher altitude fruit for d’Arry’s mid-tier white. 7 months French and American oak.
d’Arenberg, The Olive Grove, Chardonnay, McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills, 2016
A pure light gold in the glass. Opens out all funky with earthy base aromas highlighted with a perfumed stone fruit lift, a core of tropical fruit and a crest of sweet vanilla bean oak. It’s a touch lush and swoony: creamy oak alongside nutty popcorn/peach and tropical fruit. A cut of green acidity raises its head to encourage vibrancy. A fuller, fruitier style well executed for the price.
