2013 was a very good vintage for white wines in the Hunter, and with the fruit coming off the renowned Braemore vineyard, this sees just how good the Semillons are ageing.
Margan, Aged Release, Semillon, Hunter Valley, 2013
Just developing lemon and lime curd aromas, just hinting at mandarin skin over spiced lemongrass, all still with a primary steel wool. Length, length, length. Hunter acidity is vibrant as 9 volt to the tongue, cleverly disguised under textural layers of citrus. The palate twisting over itself….is it young? is it maturing? Will it live for another 20 years? Certainly. More? Very likely.
