Bay of Fires Pinot Gris 2018

Seems a sad irony that I write up a Tassie wine called “Bay Of Fires” at the moment when half of Tasmania seems to be alight from bushfires.

Bay of Fires, Pinot Gris, Derwent Valley, Coal River Valley, 2018

More pinot gris like this please. Exquisite ripe pomme fruits, soft tropicals and peach enriched by delicate spices and white pepper. The palate hums with energy and precision reiterating the flavours of the nose with an added bonus of balanced rose water. A wine of understated power with plenty of length. Brava Penny Jones and team.
