Made with minimal adjustments in the winery: no yeast or acid additions. 10 Months in French oak of which 25% was new with the remainder being 1 and 2 year old.
TarraWarra Estate, South Block, Chardonnay, Yarra Valley, 2016
A restrained lemon water character lilts over hints of nectarine stonefruit with a bass note of rich grapefruit. There’s plenty of supporting struck match and lime skin freshness.. A step out of line from the usual even silky richness of Tarrawarra, this winks at that house style upfront and then a tight crunch to a linear, long singular finish of almost shrill citrus. Patience shall reward.
