14 months in new French oak. Made by the busy Ben Glaetzer.
Heartland Wines, Directors’ Cut, Cabernet Sauvignon, Langhorne Creek, 2015
Deep and plush. Woody pencil, chomped cigar, nutty varnish, blackberry, olive and savoury earthy base note. The palate starts silky and then jumps left/right with almost dark liqueur-like depth to the black fruit before finding the savoury balance with fine mesh tannin. Certainly one for the hedonists.
