Chapel Hill, The Parson, Shiraz, McLaren Vale, 2017
Meaty, smoky, inky fruit with a dark raspberry and licorice utterance. Metallic, steely tang through mid-weight blue, red and black fruit with pepper steak savoury spice and bittersweet cooking chocolate. Flavour narrows in after the initial generosity, but the quality of fruit and winemaking is evident, even at the entry level price.
