Bit of noise recently with Jacob’s Creek leaving the Pernod Ricard Stable and off to Accolade…..Hopefully the consistency is retained.
Jacob’s Creek, Reserve, Shiraz, Limestone Coast, 2017
Blackcurrant and blueberry jam to red currant and plum sauce with a fresh bitumen earthiness, highlighted with milk chocolate sweetness. Full bodied with chunky steak meatiness, piled on black fruit with herby anise licorice and a waxy, tarry finish. There’s guts, but there’s balance.
