Stefano de Pieri, Sagrantino, Merbein, 2018

Bright pure plum character with nutty hints of rancio, tobacco spice, old leather and liqueur watermelon and blackberry.  Aromatically fruited with smoky spiced plums and the particular dark watermelon line. Medium bodied with minimalist fine, chalky tannin giving a caress on the way through to a juicy finish. Inherently drinkable.
