I can’t say it often enough and I may sound like a broken record, but Franco D’Anna and team are consistently producing the best value pinot noir in Australia.
Hoddles Creek Estate, Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley, 2018
Beautiful pinot nose, hints of smoky meats with cherry, rose petal, supported earthy undergrowth, sweet oak/burnt orange rind and cinnamon spice. It. Just. Is. The perfume transcends through medium bodied elegance; tannins are tight, like beautiful small knots drawing tight. Balance from the outset. Now to 15 years, this will be a pinot that achieves enlightenment.
