Jacob’s Creek Classic Riesling, oft referred to as Giant Slayer due to plenty of bling on the Australian Wine Show circuit, including a couple of trophies. Often found well below RRP.
Jacob’s Creek, Classic, Riesling, South Australia, 2018
Fragrant lime and apple blossom aromas, with a kind, caring soft cushiony/cotton scent and chalk dust. Plenty of vibrant lime acidity pulsing through the fine boned body. Structured, tight and still primary. Chalky texture leads to an understated juicy finish of unexpected length. I’m hesitant to say it’s trophy worthy but it certainly is an exceptional wine for the price.
