Made with Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from two vineyards in the Canberra region.
Gundog Estate, Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Canberra District, 2019
The 2018 had a parcel of Shiraz so the colour is noticeably a darker hue this vintage. Mulberry and white chocolate aromas up front with elements of coconut slice and a cooling spearmint lift. This is a grippy, textural and quite powerful rosé with pure Belgian choc eclair at the heart of the palate, with cassis and crisp cherry providing the book-ends. The acidity eventually screws all down to provide a highly strung finish. An intriguing wine which may polarise rosé drinkers. Points for difference.
