Bremerton Bâtonnage Chardonnay 2018

French oak barrel fermentation and 11 months maturation with lees stirring (bâtonnage).

Bremerton, Bâtonnage, Chardonnay, Langhorne Creek, 2018

Light gold colour with bright yellow. Initial nose of aw w worked style, riper tropical fruits with evident but subtle smoky spice/oak. Preserved lemon/lime citrus and a little briny oyster shell leading to depth of fresh pastry. Medium bodied with depth of structure from that overt lees work. Richer fruit with hints of butterscotch cream and lime splice cuts. The acidity is a creeper towards the end, ensuring freshness and drive. Handsome, falling shy of buxom.
