d’Arenberg reach a little further north into the Adelaide Hills for this fruit. Made with a “small amount” of whole bunch (around 15%). No filtration or fining.
d’Arenberg, The Feral Fox, Pinot Noir, Adelaide Hills, 2018
Stalks stick out with lifted cherry and raspberry, wet leaf matter, choc orange and steely blood note. Full bore pinot spectrum: smoky, charry edges with quite intense citrus acidity cutting through. There’s herbal action that seems a touch stalk derived and almost gritty grated dark choc textural tannins. A fine enough point of difference in the d’Arry catalogue.
