Thankfully the volume has been turned down a little with this release being labelled at 13.5% (compared to the 2018 at 14.5%). Around 15% whole bunch (berries and stems), wild fermentation and old French oak maturation. No fining or filtration.
d’Arenberg, The Feral Fox, Pinot Noir, Adelaide Hills, 2019
Dark brambly cherry and cola, macerated strawberry chunks, fresh leather and earthy herbal/forest floor, choc-nut nuances. Predominantly silky palate that sheens and shines with dark fruit and a zippy brightness. Closing out with waxy tannins this could do with a little time in the bottle to come together.
