The source of the name comes from the Crittendens: “The origin of the name Kangerong can be traced back to the mid 1800s when a a local cattle run and homestead adopted the named ‘Kangerong’ as bestowed by the local Aboriginals, the Bunurong People. The surrounding area, now known as the Kangerong basin, is home to our 27 acre family farm”. Winemaker is next generation Rollo Crittenden.
Crittenden Estate, Kangerong, Chardonnay, Mornington Peninsula, 2021

Soft stone fruit, wheaty/mealy dustiness with flinty sulphides off-set with barley sugar richness, bacon fat and sea salt. Plush yet balanced with youthful intensity. Richness and a touch of waxy viscosity give rise to the aforementioned plushness. A touch steely and woody through the tail, but neat with focus.
