A jump in ABV% for this vintage, giving a bit more junk in the trunk (plushness). Herbal, medicinal dark cherry profile with anise hints, black peppercorn, salted chocolate pretzels, saline and mixed berry mélange. Silky and plush front with full weight counterbalanced by quite cutting acidity freshening up the finish. A swathe of flyscreen tannin dries things out neatly. It’s a lot of dark, juicy fun and made for sharing with a big bowl of lamb ragu.
