Chardonnay dominant (68%) over the Pinot Noir (32%). Winemaker Jennifer Doyle (long time Jansz vine whisperer) finished and released this one. Vegan friendly, if that is important to you. The reliability of this brand is unyielding.
Jansz Tasmania, Vintage Cuvée, Pipers River, 2019
Pale lemon-gold with an almost green highlight. Sea spray and oyster shell over spiced apples, cinnamon and flaky pastry, grapefruit and roasted nuts. Easy mousse and fine beading. Tight and linear. All wrapped up and straight as a die. Nothing falling out of place here: strong, fine bones that only have hints of yeasty nuance and nougat richness, while the piercing acidity that will serve as framework for many years.
