Kyneton Ridge Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay NV

Kyneton Ridge have recently just become the first Certified Sustainable Vineyard in Macedon Ranges. Owners Angela and Andrew Wood have embraced regenerative viticulture, and through 2024, underwent a rigorous audit process of sustainability across the environmental, social, and economic aspects of their business. This blend sees Pinot Noir (75%) and Chardonnay (25%) with this release seeing harvest in 2022 and bottling in 2024. Base wine saw 9 months maturation in French oak (15% new). Winemakers are Andrew’s son Patrick and his partner Greta (from the 2022 vintage)

Kyneton Ridge, Sparkling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay Macedon Ranges, NV

Pale straw with a neat galaxy of fine beading. Marzipan and white peach nose. Stony white quartz, white cherry, hints of Danish pastry and almond croissant. Lemon tea cake, grapefruit pith, brown spice and some neat flinty refinement. Well balanced line and length. Fine body with an elegant mousse that develops and grows with neat citrus, stony base and crisp regional cool (cold?) climate ‘appley’ acid cut. NV sure, but decent balance and perfect for drinking now.
