From the Rhône to the Barossa….
Yelland & Papps, Second Take Roussanne, Barossa Valley, 2015
Cloudy and unfiltered. Wild barrel ferment, 8.5 months in barrel, 100% French oak, 28% New. Sulfides and lees Solids give funky nutty aromas, sweet note of caramel. Juicy fleshy stone fruit flavours drill down dryness…Absolute dryness, almost chalky. Roussanne weight that still sits within a light frame: Powerful in its own way: a lovely Mezze alto: a viola, not a cello. The depth and timbre is exquisite and just incredibly easy to drink.
