“I’m going down…to….La La Land. Something bout those little pills…”
But this isn’t chemistry in that format. Still, it may explain the label….A Cheetah biting the hand of Sheeba, Queen of the Mushrooms anyone?
La La Land, Pinot Gris, Murray Darling, 2015
The label leaves the buyer in a slight state of confusion as to the style. Gris or Grigio? Pick a side, don’t get splinters in your arse. The Flute d’Alsace, the alc content all give an indication to the Gris style, but still…
Ripe brown pears, a hint of sweet cinnamon spice (almost bourbon barrel sweet), sweetened cream with light tropical fruit. Palate brings more pears, followed by bittersweet citrus amalgam before falling away to spice. Some viscosity and breadth with out being fat, but never goes too far into any camp. Enough of a Gris to make Grigio drinkers pause, but doesn’t quite carry the power when you need a Gris punch. Serve with grilled pink ling.
